How Can I Tell If A Car Has Been Used In Street Racing?

After having purchased a car that was obviously wrecking during a race, then putting thousands of dollars into its transmission, shocks and brakes, I’m ready to ditch the car and get another. How can I if a car has in ? The only way we knew in the last car is that the door had replaced on the passenger side, and that was noticed only after the transmission needed to be rebuilt.
What cars are commonly in (especially in Houston) that I should simply avoid buying?

if it is a ricer stay away. generally, coffee can exhausts, body kits, turbos, and the biggest hint, nitrous. if there is a nitrous bottle, walk away immediately

You have the car inspected by an ASE certified shop. Will cost between $30 and $100 depending. Avoid any Japanese car with no maintenance records, body kits, engine swap, etc.

  3. Mustard Says:

Most street racers modify small Japanese 2 door cars. If the car does not have the factory wheels, do not touch it.
